Doki Majo Plus Equals More Witch Touching Fun
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 15th of April 2009 - 01:16 PM ]
As Japanese import game fans know, the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan series was a bold new step in eroge games on the DS. SNK created the series and urged gamers to utilize the stylus to rub, poke, touch, kiss or wink at potential witches to reveal their "Witch mark". It's no wonder to anyone why this series has never seen the light of day outside of Japan. This summer SNK is bringing out a brand new adventure for the Doki Doki series, titled Doki Majo Plus. This side story brings back the cast of the original game as they are on vacation at an island getaway. Read More...

Wii and DSi DLC for the Week of 4/13
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 15th of April 2009 - 12:09 PM ]
Sorry it’s been a couple of weeks, folks, but once again, I’m bringing Nintendo’s weekly DLC into the spotlight.  This week, the big N drops two titles into the DSi Shop, one into Wii Ware and one into the Virtual Console.  Everyone has good weeks and bad weeks and Nintendo is different with this week’s lineup. The “Telephone” clone is impressive in that the title can support up to 21 people online, but 500 points seems a bit pricey for a slightly improved version of Picto-chat.  The Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games title is a great idea, for a demo. Anyone who enjoys a good horror game should be familiar with Silent Hill. Silent Hill was first a hit for the original Playstation, then recently making it debut on the Xbox 360 with Silent Hill 5. In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, they confirm that Silent Hill is now coming to the Wii.The game is titled Silent Hill: Shattered Dreams. Konami states that this isn't a remake or a port of the first one, but a "reimagining" of the game. No release date has been announced, but hopefully it will be out later this year around Fall or Winter. Read More...

To DSi or Not To DSi
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 27th of March 2009 - 04:33 AM ]
We all love play the old games and sometimes wants to go and revisit them from time to time, doesn’t matter for what system they were on especially with the gameboy and DS. Well at Nintendo’s GDC panel they announce 2 types of DS cartridges for the DSi, the DSi Cartridges which will only work for the DSi and the DSi Enhanced cards which will work for both the DS, DS lite and the DSi, which if you put the enhanced cartridge into the DSi you will get extra features. But what does this means to us? Not only did Nintendo announce the new format but they also announce that Nintendo will only make DSi-only cards. Read More...

Wii DLC for the Week of 3/16
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of March 2009 - 01:01 AM ]
Taking the path down to Retro-land has many twists and turns...some more expensive than others.  Another Commodore 64 game was released this week on the Virtual Console and it is a good one: Summer Games II.  I very fondly remember going over to my friend Jason's house and booting up the C-64.  Not as fun to me as Winter Games, Summer Games II gave you the thrill of sport on an international level we had hardly seen before.  I have some great nostalgia for this game, but I'm not paying 500 Wii Points for it. Talk About Being Effed Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of March 2009 - 10:46 PM ]
HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL BREAKS [AN EFFIN'] RECORD FOR THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS GAMER'S EDITION Now this is a feat if I say so myself. Not the getting into the Guinness World Records book, especially since there is the Gamer's Edition. That would make it kind of moot to say that a game made it in. But in this instance, it isn't just making it in, it is the reason behind getting listed in the book. It is an effing awesome reason too. Read More...

The Chronicle Continues
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 04:04 PM ]
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Announced With the 5th installment of the franchise mere hours away from the mass populace, it should really be no shock that Capcom is going to try and keep the Resident Evil steam roller going by announcing not one, not two, but three new games they plan to bring out to market before the end of the year. Looks like they want to make 2009 year of Umbrella. If only all three were actually original games. Read More...

Wii DLC for the Week of 3/9
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 11th of March 2009 - 04:17 AM ]
Hey there kids, it's time for your weekly Wii wrap up.  Even though we're only being graced with one WiiWare and one Virtual Console release this week, your selection improves to help you erase the taste of Family&Friends Party Time Game Thing from last week.  As the one'n'one combination sadly becomes the standard for the Monday DLC drop, I find it interesting that even in this week's press release is referenced your growing library of games in your "refridgerator" when we have yet to receive any new information on a storage solution for the little white box. This week you get two old school games: one retro platformer from a retired mascot and one retro-styled side-scrolling shooter.  Whether it's nostalgia for the Master System or the arcades, you might have a reason to hit up the Wii Shop Channel this week. Look Ma, No Hands
by Brian Bentley [ Saturday, 7th of March 2009 - 11:43 PM ]
Gaming news and events here in the City of Cincinnati happen about as often as the city’s professional sports teams have a winning season.  So, when I saw we reported that the Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars van tour was making a stop on the north side of the city, I knew I wanted to put my hands on the game and create a nice article to post here on Pwned.com. You may remember last year’s E3, during Nintendo’s press conference, watching Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Cammie Dunaway using the Wii Balance Board to “snowboard” in a business suit with Shaun White nearby looking like a tool. The Organizers Target Us With More Shots
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of March 2009 - 05:55 PM ]
More To View On Platinum Games' Mad World With the launch of this game just around the corner, as in a few days (March 10th), the people over at Sega and Platinum Games have decided to tantalize all of us who are waiting for this game with some more in game shots. Which is odd because you would think there would be another launch video to get everyone pumped about this Wii Hack 'n Slash full of blood and gore. But beggars can't be choosers I guess. Even though it is all in Black, White, and Red they still make this game to look like yet another hidden classic on the Wii. Read More...

Wii DLC for the Week of 3/2
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 4th of March 2009 - 03:58 AM ]
After a big week last week releasing four games, Nintendo gears back down to its normal conservative self.  This week in Wii DLC we have a game for everyone and a game for one.  For everyone in your household we have Gammick Entertainment's Family&Friends Party.  After searching their site extensively and finding no trace of the game, I had to rely on on Nintendo's exciting trailer.  You may not have family or friends to play with when they find out you spent 1,000 Wii Points on this game.On the flip side of the coin, on Virtual Console, is another Square Enix RPG from the Super NES days: Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen.
