After waiting two hours in line at the booth for The Darkness II my friend and I finally made it in to get our grimy little hands on the demo. We were the last batch of the day and the seven of us were ushered into the heavily guarded and boxed in booth. Inside it was dark with black lights and heavy, clear curtains dividing the actually play area from the main section. The creepy ambiance and The Darkness occasionally chiming in reminding us of its evil and demonic intentions set the mood for this sequel; Dark, Grim and Scary. Before we were able to play the actual game the Producer, Seth, gathered us around and told us that there are twelve screenshots out right now and if there happens to be a thirteenth one there is going to be hell to pay. At GDC last week Curt Schilling took the stage and showed off one of the most buzzed about games from 38 Studios and EA, Kingdom of Amlur: Reckoning. Ok, well it is not just women. It really is all humans but from what is being shown in this new trailer for Shadows Of The Damned that came out at GDC from Grasshopper Manufacture. Granted the trailer is just a bit of story for the game and not a commentary on their feelings toward the fairer gender. So while the Modern Warfare 3 counter was technically a hoax, the rumors that EA was going to bring something to GDC for the announced Battlefield 3 were not. Big announcements are happening at GDC every day but Nintendo surprised everyone when it announced a new collaboration with AT&T and its soon to be released Nintendo 3DS. During his keynote speech at GDC this morning, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata's informed everyone: "There is great potential to increase the number of people who enjoy video games by opening up new game-play opportunities that are only available through the use of 3D,” Iwata said. “Nintendo 3DS will be the most connected Nintendo device ever, with its ability to link people via local wireless connections, while at the same time connecting them to people and content worldwide via hotspot connectivity." With the launch of Nintendo's 3DS less than a month away (March 27th), it looks like Nintendo is going to attempt and reclaim the mobile gaming market. Read More...

Am I right or am I right? With April seeming so far off, at least for me, I know I will take every little bit I can get for Portal 2 as it comes out. Even though they don't show all that much for the game that we haven't already been able to extrapolate. I mean this just shows some of the "tests" left for Chell to get through and nothing all that much more. I am digging the shot of Chell running from some kind of bot, doesn't look totally like GLaDOS to me, and the interesting concept of what looks like an underground water cooling system. Well this was unexpected and really early this year. Blizzard announced Blizzcon 2011 with the least amount of details, just a date, time and place. Honestly this is the earliest Blizzard has ever announced this event, hell were still getting over the last one that was less than four months ago.Here's what we know. At last year's CES we were introduced to a product called Sixense. It was a motion controller being made by one of the smaller companies Razor had under its wing. Sixense was a really cool device with A LOT of potential, but nothing seems to have happened over the last year. Well at least nothing all too public. Here we are, the day after the most anticipated weekend of conventions, Blizzcon. For your typical Blizzcon, it seemed they didn't have any major announcements this year. No Diablo III release date. No word on their new MMO (World of Jersey Shorecraft??) but I will say the cosplay contest was probably the best I've seen so far.
