Midnight Suns
The release date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is now solid with the announcement of a few more foes the Midnight Suns will face
After a bit of a delay for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, we are glad to see it back in action and ready to give us a solid release date to look at. A release date that is now set for a timeline I was figuring would have worked out vastly better for the game if it was not for the delays that Firaxis Games had to deal with. Those looking to get Marvel’s Midnight Suns can now mark down October 7th, 2022 on their calendars for when to expect to see the game on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Switch gamers are going to need to wait a bit longer, sadly, but that is just how the cookie crumbles for this one. At least there is an end in sight.
In addition to this announcement, the pre-orders for Marvel’s Midnight Suns are now up and there are four different ways to pick the game up. Weirdly, two of them are the same base game but a version just for the PS4 and Xbox One with a version for the PS5 and Xbox Series X giving all of the next-gen upgrades and five extra cosmetic skins as well. The other two options, Digital+ and Legendary, are available for all platforms with the prior offering up eleven extra skins and the latter give not only twenty-three skins but the Season Pass for Marvel’s Midnight Suns. All with the scaling cost point for those wondering before buying.
If that was not enough for the Midnight Suns here, we also have a new trailer to show off a few more of the Marvel characters joining in on the fight or getting corrupted to Lilith's side of things. Spider-Man is swinging in to help out with everything Doctor Strange and Blade need. Help they are going to need as the Hulk and Venom have been corrupted over to the dark side and will need to be brought down a peg or two. You can see all of that in motion just a bit lower down. Then head out there and secure your copy of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to make sure you have it all ready to launch on October 7th here. It is truly not that far away at this point.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns — Darkness Falls
2K and Marvel Entertainment announced Marvel’s Midnight Suns will launch on October 7, 2022. Created by Firaxis Games, the legendary studio behind the critically-acclaimed, world-renowned Civilization and XCOM franchises, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an all-new tactical RPG set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe. It will be available on PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The Nintendo Switch version of the game will be available at a later date. Rated 12 by PEGI, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is now available for pre-order.
When the demonic Lilith and her fearsome horde unite with the evil armies of Hydra, it’s time to unleash Marvel’s dark side. As The Hunter, your mission is to lead an unlikely team of seasoned Super Heroes and dangerous supernatural warriors to victory. Can legends such as Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Blade put aside their differences in the face of a growing apocalyptic threat? If you’re going to save the world, you'll have to forge alliances and lead the team into battle as the legendary Midnight Suns - Earth's last line of defense against the underworld.
With an array of upgradeable characters and skills allowing you to build your own unique version of The Hunter, you will choose how to send Lilith’s army back to the underworld.
As part of the announcement, 2K debuted a thrilling new cinematic trailer at Summer Games Fest 2022 that showcased the Midnight Suns in action against Lilith’s army, joined by two newly revealed and unlockable playable heroes - including Spider-Man! But just as the heroes come together to unite against Lilith, the Mother of Demons assembles her own twisted entourage – corrupted Fallen versions of Venom, Sabretooth, Scarlet Witch, and the Hulk!
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available in four editions: Standard Edition, Enhanced Edition, Digital+ Edition, and Legendary Edition:
- The Standard Edition will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes the base game;
- The Enhanced Edition will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It includes a next-gen optimized version of the game for next-gen consoles and five premium cosmetic skins;
- The Digital+ Edition will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes 11 premium cosmetic skins;
- The Legendary Edition will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It includes 23 premium cosmetic skins, as well as access to the post-launch Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass.
Does it make sense that all of the bundles are coming with only cosmetics for our Midnight Suns or were you hoping to see some massive collector's box with statues too? How rough do you think the Hulk and Venom fights are going to be here or will the corruption actually weaken them to not be as imposing? What other heroes or villains do you want to see added in and will they be stuck into the Season Pass of all things? Tell us all of your thoughts on all of this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. When we have anything more to share for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, it will certainly be here on the site. Please keep checking back in for all of that and much more.
