Beat Saber Is Now Heading To The PlayStation

Beat Saber

It has now been announced that Beat Saber will be making the leap to consoles with Beat Saber launching on the PSVR platform now

It is now official that Beat Saber will be heading over to the PS4 to be played on the PSVR at some point. The announcement that Hyperbolic Magnetism will be bringing the game to the platform came out as part of the PrE3 announcements that were coming to the PlayStation. It was also kind of a given that Beat Saber would be heading over as it was originally listed as "coming to consoles" back when we first heard the announcement, but now it is official. At least as official as it can be given that it is still in an Early Access stage for the Oculus and Vive versions for the game that released a little over a month ago. Semantics being as they are though.

For those who are not in the know, Beat Saber is a VR game where you will wield dual "laser swords" and cut down blocks as they fly at you. Why? Well, that is the rest of the gimmick here as it is to keep the beat going and flowing. A lot like Rock Band meets Star Wars without infringing on any of those copyrights or trademarks that are out there. If that was the case, Beat Saber would not be releasing or coming to us all in its many ways. Now if only there was a solid release date for the final build of the game. That would have been the nice little finishing touch for this announcement and trailer. Maybe by the end of E3, we will have a chance to see when the game will be coming officially.

Beat Saber — Announce Trailer

Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where your goal is to slash the beats (represented by small cubes) as they are coming at you. Every beat indicates which saber you need to use and also the direction you need to match. All the music is composed to perfectly fit the handmade levels. Our goal is to make players almost dance while cutting the cubes and avoiding obstacles. Each cut is strongly supported by great sound and visual effects to emphasize the rhythm.

Are you shocked that Beat Saber will now be coming to the console side of things on the PSVR or was it a given? Do you think that the gameplay will feel more intuitive once you are inside the system or will it be a frantic sword swinging thing that it looks like from the videos we have had? Do you think that it will branch out into other forms of music or will it stay with the original compositions we are going to be getting? Let us all know down in the comments what you are thinking and then feel free to discuss. When we get to see more for Beat Saber, we will bring it along to you here. Just be sure to keep checking back on the site to see and hear it all.
