The Alters have their expansions launching out there with the new DLC The Alters: Last Variable out now
Jan Scientist is taking on the new experiment out there, with the launch of The Alters: Last Variable. The over twenty-hour expansion that 11 Bit Studios has been working to get us all has finally launched on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for us to experience. Not only experience, but to see how the Scientist's life could have been altered had he gone down a very specialized path after the events of The Alters. That is part of the reason that we have four more versions of Jan added in for this expansion. Well, that and to see how things will play out as they head into The Oasis that has been found and deemed to be explorable. Let us all have a look and see how gorgeous this will be, and if we should just take up a lounging spot instead.
If you are just now catching up on what The Alters: Last Variable will have, beyond the long story addition, we will have a few more variations that will build into the Scientist's story from the main game. Not the character I wanted to see more from, but it makes sense with the expedition we are on. Moreso, we will have a Chemist, Physicist, Biologist, and Geologist version of Jan out there in the wild now. Something that I would have liked to have in some instances in The Alters main line, but we had more than enough to do there already without these new alters. With this new crew, it looks like the main goal will be exploring and learning all that we can from the area before the sun rises again and cooks us all. The new area seems to be a new oasis on the planet and is filled with so much more color and wonder than we have seen before out there. Jan’s story didn't end. We’re following Jan Scientist, who is losing his mind over a mysterious paradise called “The Oasis.” To unlock its secrets, you’ll have to build a whole new crew of specialized Alters: a Biologist, Chemist, Physicist, and Geologist.
Are these the alters that you have been wanting to see in the game, or would you have liked to have others go down different paths? Will this new paradise be as it seems, or will there be something even darker on this planet that we have seen before now?
