Last Harbor
Sail into a new open world with Last Harbor, as we get to see how to survive another dark world and seek out that Last Harbor
There definitely seems to be quite a few horror games taking place on boats as of late, and here we go with the reveal for Last Harbor to add to that. Even though it doesn't seem to take place solely on a boat, it is another game that will have us floating about and fishing quite a bit. Maybe that is just something that tinyBuild likes to do. Although in Last Harbor there does seem to be a good reason for all of this. This new PC title is also set in the middle of a zombie apocalypse in an open world. So, sailing around on a boat and fishing for everything does feel like it would be a great idea to go with. I guess we'll just have to look at all of the following footage of the game to see if that is going to be the correct assumption.
So, that is the elevator pitch for Last Harbor, but there's a lot more going on in the game than just a boating sim in a dark setting. It also seems to be more of a survival game, and the open world aspect of things will be that we can team up with other players in the game to better our chances of staying alive. Especially as we are going to need to hit the coasts of the world to gather supplies and resources that would never be found on the water. Thankfully, it does look as if Last Harbor will have some bits of combat in the mix, so there's not going to be a whole lot of hiding and stealth unless we so choose it. Although that might be the best option for things out there, as it does seem like the environment also has its own survival goals in mind. That's based on the fact that you can have some of your fish snatched out of the air by birds, at least, as the following reveal video for the game shows us all. Have a look.
Last Harbor — Reveal
Humanity has fallen. The undead roam the land, and the few remaining survivors have taken to the sea in search of refuge. Either solo or with a group of friends, you'll have to maintain and upgrade your vessel, organize expeditions to the land to gather supplies like fuel, weaponry, and medicine, and avoid zombie hordes to try to stay alive.
But every expedition could be your last. It’s not just the zombies that are out for blood in Last Harbor!
Key Features:
- Home Is Where The Boat Is: Welcome to your new home away from the zombie apocalypse! Craft, fish, and more while upgrading and customizing your vessel to enhance its functionality, safeguard against raids, house your fellow survivors, and navigate the seas more effectively.
- Open-World Coastal Survival: You can only stay alive on the water for so long. Venture ashore to hunt for resources and loot, but watch out for the creatures, living and unliving, who may be hunting you!
- Travel Together, Stay Alive: Everyone needs someone to watch their back. Ally with other players in co-op to defend against the dangers all around you. Navigate encounters with other players and decide whether or not to pull the trigger in tactical FPS action, but think carefully – a gunfight could draw the attention of the undead.
- Safe Harbor In A Storm: Venture across a persistent open world featuring dynamic weather. Find safe harbors where guards keep the peace, socializing with other players and renting anchorage to keep your boat afloat.
Last Harbor is launching on PC in 2027 and is available to wishlist now on Steam.
Is it interesting to have so many games based around boats as of late, as Last Harbor is? Do you think we'll spend more time on the boat than off the boat? Will we only be able to ally with other players in the game, and remove one of the worst aspects of online gaming? How long will it take before players set out to make things terrifying for all instead of allying together? Let's have it all out there in the comment section down the page here. We'll see about adding all that we can to the site for Last Harbor, so please keep an eye out for it. You might also want to follow all of our socials to see when that all goes live, so you'll always be in the know for all things gaming.
