Traverse More Of The Weird & Shifting Hallways With Liminal Shroud

Liminal Shroud

Another haunting title in the liminal spaces setting, Liminal Shroud, is on the way to us & we have a small look at what Liminal Shroud brings

It seems like the horrors of the liminal spaces just will never die, as we now have an announcement for the upcoming Liminal Shroud. Another in the growing list of titles that take place in the same setting, but are made by different teams out there. This one is coming from Everdeep Studios, who is setting up to bring us yet another title in the area on the PC. Although it does seem as if Liminal Shroud might be taking a bit of a different path than the others in this universe, which are only semi-linked together. A title that will be more of a mystery with horror tones, instead of being a horror title where we need to solve puzzles to try to survive and make it back to the real world. A solid choice to help break up the monotony of the setting, so we have something truly new to experience.

That all said, Liminal Shroud does look as if it will have the various elements of something set in the "backrooms" setting. All of the weird hallways, bizarre offices, colorful slides, and something lurking in the shadows that will keep us on edge as we try to solve whatever is going on with the narrative of the title. Along with all of the walking around and events that will have streamers making a big deal about nothing when Liminal Shroud launches. That does seem to be the big draw to these titles, as I generally do not see many outside of those constantly playing or talking about them. Maybe this one will break that streak and give the casual gamers something to experience. I am a fan of a good story, but not a fan of something that is designed to make us overreact to get views out there. I might be a bit jaded at this point in the current state of game development, but it feels like that is the state of things…

Liminal Shroud — Announcement

Liminal Shroud is a first-person horror exploration game set in surreal, liminal environments inspired by forgotten architecture, analog technology, and the uncanny feeling of being somewhere you shouldn’t be. Unlike typical “backrooms” games, Liminal Shroud blends ambient dread with interactive puzzles, mystery with a horror tone, and immersive sound design to create a truly original experience.

You will traverse shifting hallways, cavernous offices, and haunting liminal spaces, all while unraveling cryptic clues and surviving the creeping presence that lurks just beyond perception.

What Makes It Unique?

  • Original Environments: Every space is original, handcrafted, and deeply atmospheric.
  • Narrative-Driven Exploration: Discover fragments of a story hidden in the architecture and audio design.
  • Unsettling Soundscapes: A standout sound design praised by streamers for its intensity and originality.
  • Analog Horror Aesthetic: A visual style that evokes the 1970s and 80s, amplifying the nostalgic unease.

Engage with the world you explore and unlock its secrets. Discover which laws of reality can be broken, but beware… This place doesn't want you to escape!

There are no monsters that chase you, but an inescapable dark presence watches your every move. The game has minimal UI, realistic environments, and dark soundscapes to lose yourself in. Passages take many shapes, and it's up to you to escape from this twisted reality.
