Poppy Playtime Is Moving The Prototype To A Release Very Soon

Poppy Playtime

The release of chapter 5 for Poppy Playtime now has a release date, with another look at the Prototype that we’ll face in Poppy Playtime

The prototype phase for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 is coming to an end for the PC, as we now have a release date set for the next chapter. Not just the game in its prototype phase, but also the fact that Mob Entertainment is gearing up to show us The Prototype in the game when it does come to us all. Granter, we all are expected to have been following along with all of the chapters for Poppy Playtime up to now. There's still time, though, if you need to catch up, since this new chapter will be dropping on the PC this February 18th. The PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2 gamers will have a few more months to get up to speed, with that release planned further down the line. For now, let's have a look at this new Prototype we'll be running from.

While the release date is nice to have for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, we all know you are here for the new footage we have of Experiment 1006. That would be the easy assumption, even if it would be nice to keep many of those things hidden until we get to experience what the chapter has to offer. As it turns out, it seems that the developers thought the same thing, and gave us all another cinematic look at Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 and a few teases of what this Experiment is up to and can do. Some of it is truly terrifying, some of it has me questioning a few things. Questioning in a great way, and hopeful that we will get some massive answers to the story along the way. Given how these kinds of games go, I don't expect that, but we will get to see how Broken Things plays out soon. Have a look at the new video out there, and then get ready to see how this all will bring more terror into our lives in just about a month.

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 — The Prototype

Terror surfaces as deception incarnate reveals itself in the latest trailer for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5. The footage brings audiences closer than ever to the series’ central threat: Experiment 1006, known as The Prototype. Alongside the trailer, Mob Entertainment officially announces the PC release date for Chapter 5: Wednesday, February 18, 2026. A full console release will follow in the months ahead.

Deep within the vacant halls of the Playtime Co. lab, The Prototype stalks its unfinished work…the tattered, lifeless remains of toys that once were. Broken things.

This closer look, and official “Broken Things” subtitle reveal, follows the Chapter 5 announcement teaser, which revealed the aftermath of the Chapter 4 finale—the gruesome handiwork of The Prototype—alongside a cryptic message suggesting its intentions are all but understood. In the “Welcome Home” trailer, Poppy narrowly escapes with her life, only to find herself facing yet another unexpected, yet ominously charming, threat.

In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 — “Broken Things,” players must prepare to face off against the deadly puppetmaster behind the horrifying events of Playtime Co’s dark past. Solve devious puzzles and overcome dangerous obstacles as the true rotten heart at the center of Playtime Co. draws nearer. Traverse this new realm of shadows in a fight for survival (and the truth) with Playtime’s security system, Huggy Wuggy, in hot pursuit and separated from your only allies. Will you finally end this nightmare, or fall victim to the puppet master’s twisted madness?

Features:

  • Stomach-churning terrors await you in this new section of the factory as you uncover the dark works hidden within The Prototype’s stomping grounds.
  • In this chilling new layer of the Playtime facility, you will encounter the tortured denizens living in the darkness. They may aid you in your quest to defeat The Prototype, but can they be trusted?
  • Solve devious puzzles and overcome dangerous environmental obstacles with the power of new GrabPack tools and functionality.
  • As you reach the true rotten heart at the center of Playtime, discover some of the company’s gravest sins.
