Total Chaos
The launch for Total Chaos is here, and we have another darker look at what Total Chaos will bring
The nightmares are coming alive out there, with the official launch for Total Chaos. Not the mindset of the world, even if it feels that way, but the latest title that Apogee Entertainment has been getting ready to bring out there to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. One that will have us going through so many bits of darkness in the world, as well as other worlds, from the looks of things. So, let's take one more look at the story for Total Chaos and see what nightmares are bubbling up out there, and whether they will keep us locked into our systems during these difficult holiday times. The true bit of chaos that is going down in most everyone's world in the coming weeks.
To recap for those just coming into this Total Chaos here, this is a new first-person horror title built on the back of the DOOM II conversion mod. In the game, we will be heading into Fort Oasis, which was once a thriving mining town but has since shifted into something much darker. Maybe it is all in our heads, or maybe something truly did happen in the world to make it all this way. That's where we will need to hop in and try to survive everything out there in Total Chaos by using stealth and other combat moves to keep the horrors at bay. Some truly dark horrors from the looks of it all. So dark that we are only able to share with you the basic launch trailer for the game, with an uncensored one out there in the wilds being hosted by the developers directly.
Total Chaos — Launch Trailer
Showcased during the Xbox Partner Preview, psychological survival horror returns in Total Chaos. Total Chaos, the long‑awaited nightmare from developer Sam Prebble (Turbo Overkill, Weta FX / Avatar, The Hobbit), is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass, published in partnership with Apogee Entertainment and Atari / Infogrames.
Originally created as an award‑winning DOOM II total conversion mod, Total Chaos has been fully rebuilt into a standalone survival horror game. A brutal descent into madness where resource management, melee combat, crafting, and atmospheric storytelling collide.
Fort Oasis… a once‑thriving mining colony now rotting into a psychological prison. Reality buckles. Shadows watch. Something inside the island remembers you.
As you explore its decaying ruins, you’ll fight through grotesque creatures, scavenge materials to craft makeshift weapons, and uncover disturbing fragments of lives long erased. Every chapter drags you deeper into a world where sanity is the last resource you control.
Featuring a haunting new original track, “Catharsis,” from legendary Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, Total Chaos delivers a soundscape that blurs the line between atmosphere and dread.
Are you going to be in on playing Total Chaos now? Do you think that the game will all be in our character's head? Could this be another Silent Hill situation, and why are they bringing in one of the composers for the game? When will we actually be allowed to share some of the censored content out there in the world without being shut down again? Let's have that discussion in the comments below. Now that Total Chaos is out there, we don't expect much more to flow out for the game. If there is more, though, we will share it here and on the various channels that will allow us to offer up some of the darker content that is intended for adult eyes only.
