The Forest Cathedral Is Opening Up Soon On The PS5

The Forest Cathedral

The release for The Forest Cathedral on the PS5 is coming soon with gamers getting a chance to play The Forest Cathedral on Halloween

After a long while of being only on the Xbox Series X|S, and PC, The Forest Cathedral is finally making the way onto the PS5. Making the way in a fast order at that, as Whitethorn Games is ready to let us all know that the game will be on the console this Halloween. Yes, October 31st will have The Forest Cathedral out there on the PlayStation for those who need to hold out on the game until then. Just another one of those perfect timing of things, I guess, so we can add another title in the mix of the day to keep us hidden and in the dark glow of our homes. Unless you are on the trend of having fancy pastel lights in the background for your gaming room…

Jokes aside, The Forest Cathedral is bringing a new type of horror to us all again. Blending the 2D and 3D gameplay aspects as looking into the retelling of some real-world events out there. Mostly about the harmful pesticide DDT and how it affects the environment out there. Most likely with a few extra-literary licensing going too. I mean, The Forest Cathedral would not be the catchiest of video games if all we did was basic chemistry and making phone calls about some of the darker things going on in the real world. Even if it does point the finger at humans being the true monsters on this planet and need to have another mass culling to try to remedy all of the issues that humans have caused out there.

The Forest Cathedral — PS5 Release Date

Environmental horror The Forest Cathedral is coming to PlayStation 5 on October 31!

Inspired by the events surrounding real-life scientist Rachel Carson’s investigation of the harmful pesticide known as DDT, The Forest Cathedral is a dramatic reimagining of Carson’s environmental science book Silent Spring. Players will take on the role of Rachel, who has embarked on a field research biologist position on a mysterious island. While completing her weekly tasks, she quickly realizes things aren’t as they seem. Players will slowly uncover the horrific effects of the pesticide using advanced environmental technology to complete puzzles that weave together 3D exploration with 2D platforming. What secrets will Rachel discover on this island? Many will try to silence her, but the truth always finds a way.

I have yet to play The Forest Cathedral, as a PlayStation primary play, and I am curious to see how it all plays out. I have been interested in how the game is going to blend the two gameplay styles and tell a different story out there. Especially as it looks like we will have to play some retro games in the mix to save some of the wildlife and environments in the mix. That is the part I am sure The Forest Cathedral is not based on. That would make doing all of the research more fun in general, but I cannot see that being the best way to go about everything. Gamification can only do so much out there and making research better does not feel like a place it is needed.

Have you had a chance to experience what The Forest Cathedral has out there already or did you have to wait for this release too? Will it make more sense in the game why we have some of the platforming in the mix or will that be a fun way to keep the story engaging? How much of the real events inspired this or is it just the broad scope of it all that did any of the heavy lifting? Head into the comments to discuss all of this and everything else that we have on the site. there is more to come for The Forest Cathedral, for sure, and we will offer up all that we can as soon as we can. Just stick around to see all of that.
