Final Fantasy II Released on the Japanese PSN So, two weeks ago the original Final Fantasy was released on the Japanese PSN. Japanese fan boys and fan boys with a Japanese PSN account were rejoiced. But us non-JPSN having fan boys are still left out waiting for it to release in our region. Final Fantasy on PSN Soon As if there hasn't been enough awesome Final Fantasy going about the interwebs since E3, Square-Enix drops some more good news for all of the FFFreaks (F3 from now on). As much as one can be in awe of the Final Fantasy XIII and XIV trailers on the giant screen at Square Enix’s booth at E3, I kept walking around to find something else.  The classic jRPG fan in me jumped for joy at the sight of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.  Already out on Wii Ware, picking up and playing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years was like running into a warm hug of an old friend.This sequel, 18 years in the making, tells the story of you, the son of the paladin Cecil and the white mage Rosa, years after the end of Final Fantasy IV.  The great evil of the second moon destroyed by Cecil and Rosa’s party in the original has returned and it is now up to you to stop this evil and return peace to the once quiet planet. In the land where Fantasy is real, and the Final chapter is never ending, Square-Enix has always been one of the main RPG makers around the world and this year at E3 they left nothing behind. During last year's E3, at the Microsoft Press Conference, Square-Enix dropped a bombshell when they announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be on the Xbox 360 (boooooo…just kidding) and it sparked the ever question of if the system itself can handle a game of that magnitude. All those rumors about the PSP Go, all those rumors about a UMD-free PSP, and all those rumors about Sony announcing a new PSP at E3. Well it seems Sony is not finished with the current version of the PSP, as they are going to release a new bundle PSP with Dissidia: Final Fantasy. If you do not know by now, Dissidia: Final Fantasy is not another Final Fantasy RPG, but rather a Final Fantasy fighting game (no it is not another Ehrgeiz) and will include the main characters from all of the Final Fantasy titles in this game. Packaged in the bundle, you will get a “Mystic Silver” PSP-3000 system, Dissidia: Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children UMD, and a 2GB Memory Stick Duo. Final Fantasy XIII Demo While the official release date for the Demo for FFXIII isn't slated until, well today in Japan (3amish on the 16th as of this post), it didn't stop some people from getting their copies a bit early. More Screen Shots Of Final Fantasy XIII While there is no confirmation on when the US will get their version of the FFXIII demo, the Japanese got one with the re-release of Advent Children, and only rumors of such a thing, what are we outside of Japan to do? Outside of try to find videos of the demo on youtube, or fuzzy screen shots of said demo, or poor translations from blogs about said demo, or well I could go on and on but I won't. Final Fantasy XIII Countdown To What? So there is no solid news about what is going on at the Final Fantasy XIII site, but there is now a counter on the front page, and a button to register to be informed of what is going to happen when the counter hits zero. It is obviously not a count down to when the game is going to launch because the counter ends in roughly seven days. But it could be something awesome given all the stuff that has been hitting Japanese magazines lately. My guess is that is a countdown to where you need to spread out the news of the count down to 13 people or Sephiroth will show up and give you a nice sword through the chest. Read More...

According to the upcoming DKS3713 issue of Famitsu magazine, The upcoming PS3 demo of Final Fantasy XIII will clock in at a longer running time than the CGI film, Final Fantasy Advent Children. The original version of Advent Children is about 101mins long. The Blu-Ray version will feature scenes that were either cut out or not finished in time for the final release.     Here is a list of other tidbits revealed from the three-page spread in Famitsu: -The Final Fantasy XIII demo will be based from the opening section of the game. -The demo will come on a separate disc rather than on the Advent Children Blu-ray. Three weeks ago during the Microsoft press conference at E3 the good people of Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIII would be making it's way to the Xbox. This came as a huge surprise since it was previously thought to be a PS3 exclusive. The one condition of this deal, or so we all thought, was that an X360 version of FF would be exclusive to North America and possibly Europe. Well it seems there has been a change in plans. Recently at an exhibit in Taipei, Microsoft's Taiwan Entertainment head announced Final Fantasy XIII would go on sale on the Xbox 360 in Taiwan. Read More...

Final Fantasy XIII Exhibition Of Original Drawings So on top of announcing the fact that there is going to be a demo for the game come this March, another bit that was featured at the DKΣ3713 event was some of the concept work for the new FF game.
