E3 2016 Impressions — Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare If there has been one title at E3 that had strong feelings on both sides of the coin it had to be Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It had a lot of shade cast on it back when Infinity Ward first announced that it was coming on November 4th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Not because of it being yet another in the line of Activision's yearly Call Of Duty titles but because it looked too much like many other games out there and that it had lost its roots. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Watch Dogs 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Watch Dogs 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Watch Dogs 2 One of the worst kept secrets of E3, Watch Dogs 2, was fully revealed and then shown off again on the show floor. Thankfully instead of trying to play cover up on all of it Ubisoft chose to embrace the reveal and gave us our first, second, third, and even fourth look at the game during their press conference and then when the door officially opened for the day. Watch Dogs 2 definitely was the talk of the show and thankfully I was able to sit down and get a closer look at the demos and gameplay offered up to us all. All in a nice little hidden room with the sounds of the booth bumping and drowning out the experience. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 21st of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Another huge title I know I was personally looking forward to during my voyage to E3 was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Ever since the first time Eidos-Montreal fist announced it a while back I was stoked and ready to see how far they progressed the rebooted franchise given the greatness of Human Revolution. Thankfully Square Enix had Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in the mix of titles they were showing off and I was able to spy a nice long video demo of the game. Given that it releases on August 23rd for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC it felt a bit on the final stages so I am certain these formed thoughts will be up to snuff. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Skylanders Imaginators
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Skylanders Imaginators in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Skylanders Imaginators Just as with every year since the franchise's start we have Skylanders Imaginators as the new addition to the franchise. We had the announcement that Toys For Bob is working on bringing us something new for the franchise and genre but at E3 Activision had a nice showing of the game from a bit of behind the scenes. We were allowed to see Skylanders Imaginators while out on the floor and also had a nice description of what will be coming to this franchise to make us shell out even more cash for the game and toys. All of which launching on October 16th for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U. Read More…

E3 2016 Hands On — Agents Of Mayhem
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Agents Of Mayhem in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Agents Of Mayhem With Agents Of Mayhem getting the full announcement just before E3 I was a little shocked to see that the game was available to play at the show. It looks like Volition had kept this little gem under-wraps so well that they have at least a solid playable demo and during my visit to see what Deep Silver had to show off I was able to sit down and play Agents Of Mayhem quite a bit. In fact I was able to run through the demo almost twice using one of the characters yet to be announced with the initial push. Yes, it looks like there will be more than just the three characters we originally thought. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — LEGO Dimensions
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see LEGO Dimensions in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on LEGO Dimensions When I first stepped into the very cushiony area to check out what was coming to LEGO Dimensions I was half expecting it to be something akin to all of the other toys-to-life genre titles in the way of a new disc and new toys to purchase. Of course with how TT Games has had everything set up it could have gone either way or at least the way that Warner Bros. would have wanted. Read More…

This Week In Video Games 6/13/16 — 6/17/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games Holy hells this was one intense week in video games now wasn't it? Of course with E3 taking place we had a lot to look out for and man did we get a whole lot of new information and new titles coming our way. I knew we would get to see something from God Of War but didn't expect to have seen Resident Evil 7 in the mix. I thought the most of the horror I was going to see was going to be from Friday The 13th: The Game. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — South Park: The Fractured But Whole
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see South Park: The Fractured But Whole in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on South Park: The Fractured But Whole This has been marked down as one of my most anticipated titles of E3 and I was able to go behind the curtain and see South Park: The Fractured But Whole as they wanted to show us. Of course this being Ubisoft there was all the glamour mixed around it all to make everything more impressive than their little black room for the last title in the franchise. It looks like they get that South Park is something that is going to help rake in plenty of money and they are taking care of it. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Mafia 3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Mafia 3 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Mafia 3 Here we go with one of the larger titles that 2K Games was pimping out at E3 and now we have a solid look at Mafia 3 in terms of world and gameplay. Gameplay that was shown off by none other than the devs over at Hangar 13 in the mix of a time jump back to the era that the game takes place in. Of course there is a whole lot more to go into for Mafia 3, as with all of the other games out there, but this is the best look we have until October 7th when it finally lands on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Something that I know we are all looking forward to in one way or another. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Injustice 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of June 2016 - 02:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Injustice 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Injustice 2 It was "leaked" and then we got some gameplay to look at just before E3 but I was able to sit down and actually have a good look at Injustice 2 on the show floor. It wasn't anything playable sadly but it was gameplay where NetherRealm Studios went into all the ins and outs of the updates and changes that will be coming. Not only that but we had a look at a few of the new characters coming to Injustice 2 here when it launches next year for the PS4 and Xbox One. It does look like the PC is taking a back seat on this one given all of the pitfalls that Warner Bros. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Horizon Zero Dawn
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 16th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Horizon Zero Dawn in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Horizon Zero Dawn. A good portion of what Sony has on the floor here at E3 happens to be just what we saw during the press conference and the same pretty much goes for Horizon Zero Dawn. We have another live demo put on from Guerrilla Games just for us but the only difference is that afterward we we allowed to actually put hands on with the game still waiting to launch on February 28th of 2017 on on the PS4. Of course it wasn’t of any new portion of Horizon Zero Dawn we have yet to see but that doesn’t change the fact that we got to actually play the game. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 16th of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Gwent: The Witcher Card Game in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. We all demanded it and not we are getting Gwent: The Witcher Card Game as a standalone title to play and experience outside of the core game that spawned it. Of course CD Projekt RED could have taken the easy way out and just ported the basic game over to appease the fans but instead they went all out and brought a fully redesigned version of the game for us. The core mechanics are still there but this version of Gwent has a lot more to offer than just fun times and collecting cards. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Batman: The Telltale Series
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of June 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Batman: The Telltale Series in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Batman: The Telltale Series. A few reveals for Batman have already popped up here at E3 this year but of course that isn’t where the reveals were going to end. In fact in the middle of Wayne Manor here on the floor Telltale Games had a secret access to the Bat Cave and allowed some of us to see the first 30 minutes of the first episode of their take on the Batman franchise. That sounds like quite a bit to take in but thankfully it was just enough to keep the hype ball rolling as we wait for the episode to finally land sometime this Summer for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. Here’s what is new to the whole gameplay set up that we already know and love from the developer. Read More…

E3 2016 Impressions — Friday The 13th: The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Friday The 13th: The Game in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Friday The 13th: The Game If there has been one game I was overly excited to see at E3 this year, that had already been announced, it was Friday The 13th: The Game. I’ve been so amped for this game since it was originally Summer Camp and now Illfonic and Gun Media have something solid for us all to see for the game. You may have seen some of it during their Twitch stream just before the event but if not then you are in the right place. Read More…

Resident Evil 7 Was In Front Of Us This Whole Time In VR
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of June 2016 - 09:00 PM ]
Looks like Resident Evil 7 had been shown off to us all a while ago but now Resident Evil 7 is officially launched and coming. If we put on our “way back” hats to a time where we heard about a demo called Kitchen we will now be able to recognize it as Resident Evil 7 and that the true horror had been shown to us quite a while ago now. During last night’s round of press events we all were able to witness a new VR experience from Capcom that many in the crowd were already murmuring Kitchen. As the demo carried on it played out just as before only a bit longer only to finally reveal that it was indeed Resident Evil 7 and that it has been in the making for a lot longer than we knew.
