PAX East Hands-On: Double Dragon Neon
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 12th of April 2012 - 09:39 AM ]
On the floor of PAX East was a small booth that had a pillar like set up with four different games. One of those games was hidden away from the casual viewing eye. That game was Double Dragon Neon, an upcoming XBLA game that not only impressed me with its beautiful art style, but also its nostalgic atmosphere. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 02:26 PM ]
During the hectic weekend at PAX I got a chance to check out The Secret World, the new MMO from Funcom. I sadly didn't get any play time due to interviews and my horrible memory. But I do have a video for you guys, so please enjoy. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Borderlands 2
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 09:17 AM ]
Borderlands 2 is a massive improvement from the first installment. The controls are super smooth and tight. The feeling of level grinding seems to have disappeared, thankfully. Read More...

by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 02:48 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out a little bit of the single player campaign for Spec Ops: The Line, and had a great interview with one of the developers. I really enjoyed the demo at PAX East. It was very smooth and had responsive controls. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Aliens: Colonial Marines
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 10:28 AM ]
I had the privilege to speak with the senior producer of Aliens: Colonial Marines at PAX East over the weekend. They were also giving a demo of the Multiplayer. The Multiplayer was very team oriented and forced you to work together to defeat your opponents. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Wreckateer
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 03:28 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out Microsoft's Kinect for the first time ever, and the first game I played on it was Wreckateer. Wreckateer is an XBLA game that revolves all around destroying castles (hey, who doesn't love wrecking stuff?) The plot behind destroying castles is that you are a part of a demolition crew who is hired by the king to destroy abandoned and unwanted castles that have been overrun by goblins. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Lollipop Chainsaw
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 9th of April 2012 - 09:36 AM ]
During PAX East I got to get some playtime with Lollipop Chainsaw and interviewed the legendary Suda 51. Lollipop Chainsaw had some very smooth and tight controls, chaining attacks between kicking and swinging the chainsaw was simple enough to button mash if you wish, but at the same time complex enough to satisfy those who frown upon the mashing of buttons. The demo started off in a farm-like area, where some good ol' zombies popped up and begged for me to slay them (not really, but I could tell they were asking for it). Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 14th of March 2011 - 03:54 PM ]
After waiting two hours in line at the booth for The Darkness II my friend and I finally made it in to get our grimy little hands on the demo. We were the last batch of the day and the seven of us were ushered into the heavily guarded and boxed in booth. Inside it was dark with black lights and heavy, clear curtains dividing the actually play area from the main section. Read More...

PAX East Day 1
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of March 2011 - 10:19 AM ]
By Matt Waitt The first day of PAX East started off on a bad foot with me forgetting the passes at my house. After trekking all the way back, my crew and I finally made it to PAX East. We took in all the sights, sounds and not too friendly smells and we headed on over to none other than the Mortal Kombat booth. Read More...

Dead Space 2 Does Dark Void Right
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 1st of April 2010 - 06:41 AM ]
So if you were at PAX East last week, or at least following the official Dead Space Twitter account, you might have had the chance to catch a glimpse of what is to bee seen of the Dead Space 2. Either by being in the conference room or via the live uStream of the event. But just in case you didn't get to catch it either way, or just don't want to sit through all the other stuff they talked about, here is the video of in-game footage. Read More...

PAX East: The Sight And Sounds
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 31st of March 2010 - 08:47 AM ]
If you were not able to make it to Boston for PAX East, do not worry that is why we were there. Some of the booths were so busy with people surrounding the screens, it was hard for me to even get a decent picture. But Michael and myself met a lot of people like Adelle from Gametopia, her husband Dan from Gametopia, Rich from Gametopia/Bitmob and some of the crew from Bitmob. Read More...

Shank Cometh
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 31st of March 2010 - 06:41 AM ]
I've been following Shank for a while now, and I've been consistently impressed by the visuals and the style of the game. It's like a 2D explosion of sweetly animated vengeance carefully marinated in some of the craziest violence that does not include a certain Devil Who May Cry or Dual Wielding Busty Librarian Clothed In Her Own Hair. Developed by Klei Entertainment, makers of such downloadable goodness as Eets and N+, Shank has action to spare. Read More...

PAX East: Cosplayers Came Out To Play
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of March 2010 - 03:34 PM ]
Boston has their own anime convention called Anime Boston. You would think that even with just that convention the people in the Boston area would be satisfied dressing up as their favorite anime, cartoon, and video game characters. Well that was not the case here at PAX East. Read More...
