The long awaited Max Payne 3 has been confirmed and is already in development for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The story takes place sometime after the second one where Max Payne is now a retired police detective left in a world of corruption and violence.


Founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser states that this will be a new chapter in Max's life and that this is Max as we've never seen him before. The game is also said to be more "darker" than the first two.


"Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out." - Rockstar Games


The official website has also been launched. Nothing is really on there yet except for wallpaper, avatars and AIM icons. More info to come soon.


Expect Payne this Winter 2009.
