Spider-Man
A new Spider-Man trailer is here from Paris Games Week and this one shows us who Spider-Man actually is as well as some of the supporting cast
After much waiting and guessing, we finally know who this Spider-Man is going to be in the new game coming from Insomniac Games. Not only that, but we also have a new trailer for the game out of Paris Games Week all to show us that it will be another Peter Parker story but it will host a plethora of supporting cast as well as other playable characters. All of this because, and I agree, the best Spider-Man stories do come from events that cause both the hero and secret identity to cross over and this is just what this PS4 game is looking to do. We will know a lot more as we head into 2018, but the team has been very adamant on this point and now we get to see it all a bit more.
As you will see in the following trailer, it looks like Spider-Man is taking place about eight years after Peter received his new powers. He has also been able to bring down the Kingpin by himself and is now trying to hang up the mask a bit. Sadly, though, it does not look like it will get to stay up long as MJ, Aunt May, and Miles Morales to name a few will be mingling around this version of New York and will either need to aid or seek aid from the Web-Slinger. At least as this trailer shows as Mister Negative looks to be filling in the power vacuum that has been created and using other Spider-Man villains to aid in this. At least I think I saw Shocker in there slamming Peter into a wall of sorts.
Spider-Man — PGW 2017 Teaser Trailer
This past summer was a very exciting time for our studio as E3 served as a great avenue to showcase the unique Spider-Man game universe we’re building. Since then we know you’ve been anxiously awaiting another look at the web-slinger, which is why we were thrilled to unveil a new trailer at the PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week.
The trailer includes your first glimpses at the man behind the mask - Peter Parker. We also introduce you to Peter’s very close friend Mary Jane Watson, his beloved Aunt May, his longtime nemesis Wilson Fisk (AKA Kingpin), and much more.
What is not touched on here for Spider-Man, but has also been revealed, is that during the story we will also need to play as Peter unmasked for portions to try and balance the personal life with the hero life. I am going to guess also to spark up a romantic relationship with MJ as she is only listed as a "very close friend" and not romantic interest as is the usual case. Maybe it will stay as friends though as we will get to play as MJ in Spider-Man at points to further the story and see how she is doing as a reporter at the Daily Bugle. Although I would be more interested to see if Miles will be playable at some point or if he will be sidelined for the majority of Spider-Man to lead into a possible sequel of sorts. Insomniac Games has yet to mention, but it could be the path if this game is well-received.
Are you more or less excited for Spider-Man now that you have seen this trailer? What are your thoughts on the need to play as both hero and human in the game as well as other supporting cast members? Do you think that we will get to play as other characters than those listed or, to a similar extent; do you think we will see the more popular characters show up in the game? Let us all know what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. As more on Spider-Man is released, we will have it here for you. Just keep checking back in on the site and you will get to keep as up to date as we are on the whole game.
