Square Enix Taking Pot Shots At Ubisoft With Agent 47

If you've visited this site for a while now, you most likely know that I am one who enjoys taking shots and low blows at people, designers, companies, babies, kittens, artists and pretty much anything that can understand the words that come out of my mouth. Sometimes even when they don't. I am also a fan of when someone slyly places a comment in a trailer that is seen by a large population of people who follow these things. I'm talking about us gamers and stuff shown on Spike's "award" show.

If you look below, you will see a new trailer for Hitman: Absolution. It looks to be all pre-rendered, but given what has been shown before, a little bit could be in game. Doubtful, but there could be a chance. Anyways, that is not what I want to bring to your attentions. If you look past all of that, you can see a schooner very well snuck in slap at Assassin's Creed. At least this is how I am taking it and so should you. Because I said so. There might be punch and pie.

During the final scenes of the trailer the phrase "The Original Assassin" flashes on screen. Something that can and might be passed off, but I see that as a snide placement about how Hitman's #47 was killing people in secret for 7 years before Altaïr was sneaking through locales of yore. As I said, I am one who enjoys these kinds of things even if it is my own little mental invention and nothing meant at all by Square.

Either way, enjoy the new footage of Hitman: Absolution.
