New L.A. Noire Trailer Sounds Good But Looks Off

Rockstar Games just released a new game play trailer for their upcoming title, L.A. Noire. Oh and the release date of May 17th here in the US. We can all rejoice in the fact that the next Rockstar game is not too far off. Blah blah blah…oh and the trailer is added below for you to watch and get your panties in a bunch over.

But before you watch this trailer try something for me, just listen to the audio first and then watch the trailer. The voice acting and sound effects sound like you are watching a great film trailer or a snippet from a great TV show. I would expect to open my eyes and see that it is the next big blockbuster coming to the large or small screen near me. Except for the fact that when I see the visuals that go along with the voice acting, there is just something not right about all of it. Almost like the audio is too well produced for the graphics or something.

From the way it all sounds, I would be expecting photorealist pre-rendered visuals going along with all of the audio but it does not look that way. Almost like Rockstar was able to capture all of the passion and emotion of the lines and acting only to use 1950 Disney Imagineering to give a face to the voice. All of which making it seem, well, off. Like someone is trying to pull a real fast one.

I am glad to hear that part of the overall story fall right in suit for me though. If anything I can play the game and close my eyes during the scripted scenes to get the full enjoyment out of it because the animations to me seem off.
