We Got A Mafia II Developer's Call We Couldn't Refuse

Now that you have seen the videos used to muster up your interest in the game that was eight years in the making - Mafia II - what else do you think the developers would want to tell you about the game? Yea, trailers and clips are fun, but they don't always convey certain things about a game you want to know. Sometimes they don't even truly show how the game is going to look and sound like.

Well, we got on the horn with Jack Scalici, Director of Creative Production, and had a few questions answered for you. Like why did it take the better part of a decade to get a sequel? Will the game have destructible cover and items? How does the melee combat handle? Will there be zombies or vampires? You know, the stuff you really want to ask, but don't have the same access that we do.

Here you go in its 44 minutes worth of information glory to answer all those questions above and many more. Oh, to spoil only very little of it, here are the answers to those above questions. A whole new game engine was built for the game. Not all of it is completely destructible, but a good portion for the sake of realism. Not as robust as they would have wanted, and finally, absolutely not, the Mafia alone is more than sufficient enough without needing extras in Mafia II.
