Arkham Asylum Remodeled To Arkham City

It has been a long while since we had any good news about Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 hasn't it? Almost eight months it has been since the VGA's ran the announcement trailer for Warner Bros. and Rocksteady Games' next incarnation of the best Batman game to date. The only thing we've had to go on from there is the small slips that the voice actors have passed out.

Well here is something better than those small things.

For starters, it is no longer called Batman: Arkhamn Asylum 2. Let's get ready for Batman: Arkham City. Yea, it would seem some of the speculation from the announcement is that Joker has taken the entire city now that he is back in action. But from the sounds of it, it isn't just holding it for ransom or fun and games. It sounds just what the Joker would want to do with the city; share his beautiful insanity with the mass populace.

To go along with the shiny new title, there is also a release window. A window that is over a year away, so don't get too excited. Yep, we are looking at a fall 2011 release for this already-looking-to-be-awesome title. With all this time Rosksteady please don't screw up Batman: Arkham City. Please.

Next, from the covers of the new Game Informer, it looks like another villain confirmed for the game is Catwoman. Unless they are going out of their way to tease her mention in the game or minor role, like The Riddler last time. She appears in her full cat goodness alongside Bats in the below images. Feel free to check them out.

Finally, and this is just me spit balling; it would seem a little more speculation is injected in with the Game Informer images too. Could there be some form of co-op with Batman and Catwoman? I mean one of the shots gives them the "buddy" look. Also, co-op is something that all you out there clamor for, even when a game doesn't need it. But then again, this is just me speculating on these images. Nothing confirmed. What do you think?
