Torchlight is one of 2009's unexpected games that everyone seemed to enjoy. If you do not know what Torchlight is, and shame on you for not knowing, let me tell you. Torchlight was developed by Runic Games with the team consists of former Diablo creators Max and Erich Schaefer and several more famous representatives of the international game dev scene. The game plays similar to the original Diablo games that was made from Blizzard Entertainment.
Austrian publisher JoWooD Entertainment has obtained the rights to distribute Torchlight, adding another triple-A title to the JoWooD’s family. So why are they releasing a hard copy of the game? Oddly enough, most people still prefer the hard physical copy of the game.
Albert Seidl, CEO of JoWooD Group has explained, “JoWooD Entertainment will utilize it highly effective distribution network to optimally position the game in stores all over Europe (excluding France and Benelux). The enormous amount of publicity this title has generated in the media so far, as well as the product’s indubitable top quality, makes us certain that this title has huge potential. We are enthusiastic to be able to cooperate with Runic Games on this project and are looking forward to a highly successful release.”
My Take:
If you do not have this game yet and you want a physical copy of the game, I say go out and grab this title when the physical copy of Torchlight comes out in March 23rd, 2010.
