Steam Deck OLED Will Be Dropping Into Our Hands Here Very Soon

Steam

The Steam Deck OLED is on its way with a release of this new Steam Deck landing next week for those that want to have the upgrade

A new version of the powerful PC handheld device is on the way to us all with the Steam Deck OLED getting shown off and dropping out there on November 16th. Just in case you always need to have the latest and greatest hardware in your hands to play your video games, that is. This new version of the Steam Deck offers up not only the new and slightly larger screen for us all to use but also faster WiFi technology and a longer-lasting battery to have in the system. We all know we need more battery when it comes to these kinds of things, so maybe that is the bigger step forward for us all to look at with this new drop that is on the way.

When it is all boiled down, the Steam Deck OLED looks like it will be offering up a better visual experience for those looking to play their PC games on the move. At least as it comes to the screen of things. The OLED will offer up some of the HDR lighting and have some of the darker blacks out there. This is all nice, but when the main hardware for the processor is the same as the other models, it is going to have to fall on the software to utilize that a bit better. If I am understanding the new specs of the Steam Deck OLED to the best of my abilities, that is. What I am getting at is that it does not seem like a big leap forward for those who already own one but the best option for those looking to get their first Steam Deck next week.

Introducing Steam Deck OLED

Steam Deck OLED is the same powerful handheld PC gaming console experience as the original Steam Deck LCD, but with an HDR OLED screen, a longer lasting battery, faster WiFi, and a slew of tweaks and improvements across the board.

Additional Steam Deck OLED Details:

  • HDR OLED display designed from the ground up for gaming
  • 30-50% longer battery life
  • Faster downloads with Wifi 6E
  • Improved thermals, and 5% lighter than the Steam Deck LCD models

Steam Deck OLED is available starting November 16th at 10 AM Pacific in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, and European Union, as well as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong via KOMODO (hyperlink to Komodo).

Will you be getting the Steam Deck OLED when it drops next week? Were you expecting there to be many more upgrades and changes to this version beyond the screen? The Steam Deck does feel like it is always changing and evolving, so we will try to offer up all of the news and updates we can for it here.
