E3 2018 Impressions — The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of June 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit. Another of the outside the realm of the usual at E3 came The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit during the Microsoft media event and it is the bridge between the original Life Is Strange and the upcoming second full title in the franchise. DontNod is back at the helm for the franchise here and it looks like they also have Square Enix bringing it to us on June 26th on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. All for the low price of free, so we can eliminate the cost being a reason to skip out on this new narrative adventure. Read More…

E3 2018 Impressions — A Plague Tale: Innocence
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of June 2018 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see A Plague Tale: Innocence in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on A Plague Tale: Innocence. Another E3 has come and we had another year where we had a chance to check out A Plague Tale: Innocence. This would be that interesting stealth-adventure game that Asobo Studio has been working on that is set in 14th century France where we are being swarmed by rats and need to survive. Not only that but in A Plague Tale: Innocence the innocence stands refers to the protagonist(s) of the story as we take on the role of two young children in the mix of all of this. Time to add another dark yet interesting title to the list for Focus Home Interactive. Read More…

E3 2018 Impressions — Dying Light 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of June 2018 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Dying Light 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Dying Light 2. How Dying Light 2 was kept under wraps so well before E3 this year is beyond me but I am glad for the great little surprise it was when the announcement hit us all. It was a game that we all were fairly certain that Techland was working on and then we all were able to see it in full action. Especially being part of the original Dying Light community that is still hunting down things in the game and experience everything that there is to play in the game. Read More…

E3 Hands On — SoulCalibur VI
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of June 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see SoulCalibur VI in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on SoulCalibur VI. There seemed to be many fighting games out on the show floor at E3, which is good for the genre, but some of the good old franchise was out breathing life into themselves and SoulCalibur VI was another one of them out there. Do not think this is a bad thing as it is good to see that Bandai Namco has not abandoned the game and trying a few new things. Especially based on what they had on the show floor for us to play. E3 Hands On — Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of June 2018 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden. Earlier in this year we first caught wind of Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden and its interesting look and design drew me in. It has been a while since I was able to play a good turn-based combat game and it looked like The Bearded Ladies was right on par with trying to bring one to us. Not only that, but also bring one to us based on a classic tabletop game I have never heard of before but many of the team had grown up enjoying. Read More…

E3 2018 Impressions — Cyberpunk 2077
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of June 2018 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Cyberpunk 2077 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Cyberpunk 2077. After a nice five year gap of silence, we were all finally treated to our first look at Cyberpunk 2077 and where the game currently stands in the development cycle. Some out there were able to see the nice new trailer that CD Projekt RED put together to be shown. Others, like myself, were treated to a behind closed doors showing of Cyberpunk 2077 that featured a whole lot of gameplay. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Hitman 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of June 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Hitman 2 in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Hitman 2. We all knew it was coming and then it was secured when Hitman 2 received the official announcement just before E3 this year. Given how well the last one was received and still is played today, it would have been a bad move on IO Interactive to not follow it up with another great addition to the franchise and continue the story that sucked us in recently. They may have moved over to Warner Bros. to get the game out there, but that is not a bad thing at all as they also had Hitman 2 on the floor to play and see just where the game has progressed to. E3 Hands On — Metro Exodus
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of June 2018 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Metro Exodus in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Metro Exodus. After all the plagues of delays, I was finally able to get my hands on Metro Exodus this year out at E3 and see how the game has advanced over its predecessors. Sure, we have seen quite a few interesting trailers in the past and a few tech demos where 4A Games has shown off the game's engine, but graphics do not make a game. It makes it look pretty and in a game like Metro Exodus it helps with the immersion, but it is not the sole reason to give the game a chance. Read More…

E3 2018 Impressions — Call Of Cthulhu
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of June 2018 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I was able to see Call Of Cthulhu in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Call Of Cthulhu. The madness continues to flow as we are still left waiting for Call Of Cthulhu to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but we did get another great showing of the game while on the floor out at E3. While I know I was hoping to be able to actually play and experience what Cyanide Studios has for the game so far, it was not meant to be as it was not playable on the floor again. Thankfully, though, Focus Home Interactive had us all covered to show off a bit more for Call Of Cthulhu and get us ready for its imminent release of sometime this year. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Arca’s Path
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of June 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Arca’s Path in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Arca’s Path. In the mix of all the hustle and bustle of E3 sometimes you yearn for a break and some other title out there to ground you back out and that was where Arca’s Path comes in here. I am going to go on a limb and say that a lot of you most likely have not heard of the game as of yet but it was on the list of VR titles that I wanted to check out during the show. It is a new title that Dream Reality Interactive has crafted for us and another "smaller" title that Rebellion has put themselves behind to bring to the PSVR, Oculus, and Vive sometime soon. E3 Hands On — Strange Brigade
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of June 2018 - 09:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Strange Brigade in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Strange Brigade. One of the great things about E3 is finding little gems of games around the floor and getting to check out other lesser-known titles like Strange Brigade. This being a game we have brought up a few times before here on the site, but also have been eagerly waiting for sine Rebellion first announced that it was coming and again when it was given the August 28th release date for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Strange Brigade looks like a new and fresh take on the third-person shooter style of game, but with some great twists and turns. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of June 2018 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Shadow Of The Tomb Raider in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. With Shadow Of The Tomb Raider not that far off from release, September 14th as a reminder, it was expected to see the game have a huge showing out at E3 this year and Square Enix did not let us down. There was a great showing during their huge press event the day before E3 kicked off, but also had a nice long demo for fans to play that Eidos-Montréal had put together just for the show. It was a nice subsection of the core game and let the world see what was coming to Shadow Of The Tomb Raider as well as show how the gameplay has shifted a bit. Read More…

E3 Hands On — Jump Force
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of June 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
While at E3, I was able to see Jump Force in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here is my take on Jump Force. It feels like this should have been a thing well before, but as it was announced out of E3 this year, we have Jump Force coming at us on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC from Spike Chunsoft. All to add into the crazy games and style that Bandai Namco has been known to bring us when it comes to the anime-style titles out there. This one aims to bring all of your favorites into one battle arena here and finally have us hash out those epic fights we all speculate on. Read More…

This Week In Video Games 6/9/18 — 6/15/18
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2018 - 11:00 PM ]
A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week Holly Hells, it has been a huge week in video games as E3 has now come and gone. There were all kinds of surprises and fun to have been had and we were out there on the ground checking out all of those games and collecting information. One of the big video games out there being Cyberpunk 2077 and we have a lot more to share with you than what we already have here. That and more for Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Spider-Man, and Death Stranding just to name a few. Read More…

Death Stranding’s Cast Is Expanded & We Finally Get Some Gameplay Out Of E3
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2018 - 09:00 PM ]
There was more to see for Death Stranding out of E3 and it shows some new gameplay while keeping us all confused about what Death Stranding actually is Another of the titles we knew were going to be a focus for E3 this year was Death Stranding and many out there were hoping to get a better understanding of what the game is actually going to be about. That is besides being another weird adventure Kojima Productions is going to take us on and house a whole lot of famous actors and directors in the game. Star power can only go so far and even with adding the heroines of Death Stranding in the latest trailer, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner, we still have a lot we are waiting to get fully defined for the game.
