Here Is A Whole Lot More H1Z1 Gameplay To Feast Your Eyes On
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 5th of May 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
SOE recently hosted a 12-hour H1Z1 livestream event and here are some of the gameplay highlights from what was shown. Some of you may have heard about and watched the H1Z1 livestream that SOE put on last week. Some of you may have missed it. The last subgroup may have caught parts of it but were unable to dedicate the entire twelve hours to watching all of the pre-alpha gameplay and development that is going into H1Z1. Personally I fell into the last group. Fear not though, we have some of the better highlights of the stream for you to catch up and stay on par as the zombie MMO moves toward a golden status. Here Is A Nice Long Look At H1Z1, The Zombie MMO From SOE
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of April 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Recently two of the developers for H1Z1 took us through a play through of an early build of the game. Just in case you do not have all the time in the world to dedicate to seeing all of the videos and streams for H1Z1 we have a nice long one for you to see below. Jimmy Whisenhunt (Game Designer) and Tom Schenck (Technical Director) sat down and played a nice 50 minute session of H1Z1 on Twitch recently to show off what the game will have to offer. At least in the form of the "higher action" of the game and not the hours of scavenging that will be needed to survive in the world. As should be warned this is a pretty early build of H1Z1 but there is a good look at the mix of first person and third person action. Read More...

The President of SOE, John Smedley, has brought the internet H1Z1; a new zombie survival MMO. Welcome to Woodbury H1Z1, the new Zombie themed MMO straight out of Sony Online Entertainment. That is just what we all need in our lives right now huh? The only thing is that H1Z1 sounds like it is building off all of the other 'zombie' games and media out there to try and give us the experience we are all pining for apparently. Let's dig into what we know so far to help better get a grasp on H1Z1. First and foremost H1Z1 is going to be a free to play game based on the engine that powers Planetside 2. Read More...

Impressions: DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of January 2011 - 02:12 PM ]
So here we are a week out from the launch of DC Universe Online and considerable time has been spent tweaking and fixing bugs in the beta, both on PC and PS3. I had the chance to be a part of the beta, along with all of you PSPlus subscribers or those lucky to have swagged a code to get in. If you don't fall into either of those categories, let me fill you in on what you have been missing out on. The Story Just like any RPG, be it MMO or Table Top, there is an ultimate evil trying to destroy/control the universe. In this case, it is Brainiac and he is doing it in the form of stealing all of the powers of the heroes and villains of the DC Universe. Read More...

Review: TerRover
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 21st of October 2010 - 11:06 PM ]
Creat Studios generated a lot of buzz when it showed its downloadable title, TerRover, at E3 this summer. Then when the demo was dropped exclusively for PlayStation Plus members, excitement for the game was off the charts. Sensitive controls and dynamic game play showed the promise of a precision platformer – something the hardcore gaming community can always get behind. TerRover embraces and champions the game design concept of Trial by Death. Trial by Death is the process by which the player acquires knowledge of the game and its systems of control by forging forward without the necessary information to succeed, relying on continuous failure to derive the correct solution. SOE Fan Faire Hands On: DC Universe Online
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of August 2010 - 01:17 PM ]
You would think that with E3 and Comic Con only two months and two weeks, respectively, before Sony Online's big Fan Faire, that there would not be all that much new to happen with DC Universe Online. At least that's what I thought as I arrived to see what SOE had on display for their "true fans" in Las Vegas, NV last weekend. But I was greatly surprised that I was wrong; something that I rarely admit to happening. First, there was a new instance being shown off: Joker's Carnivale. Read More...

Sony Online Entertainment is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe, but I guess they couldn't wait any longer for BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO. Frankly neither can we. SOE is going live today with their latest MMO title - Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. Sony's new Clone Wars title is geared specifically for the younger generation of Star Wars fans, and avid watchers of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Obviously with Sony's success with the Free Realms franchise, kids and micro-transactions go together like peanut butter and bananas. Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures will be free-to-play, but will also utilize the Sony Online Store cash system for players to purchase items, outfits and accessories. Read More...
