Follow The Path To Understand What Kholat Is All About

I'm not even going to try and pronounce Kholat but that doesn't mean that the new title doesn't look at all too shabby. It looks like it could be something that we all write home to mom about as we wouldn't want to try and butcher the name with a call. Hopefully the Polish developer IMGN.PRO will expand upon that as we move forward with their Q1 2015 PC release title. For now let us move on to what we know about Kholat as well as the first trailer for the game.

As stated above Kholat is a FPP storytelling game/experience where we will be following the path of a group of Russian students who went to the Ural Mountains. As is to be assumed, said students never made it back from their trip and there have been no explanations. This is in fact based on the real world events of the Dyatlov Pass incident and "based on true event" stories never let us down right? Hopefully Kholat will break that trend.

Kholat — The Path

If events and gameplay are to be expected based off the above trailer for Kholat it looks like this is going to be an Outlast style of game. It doesn't look like we are going to have any weapons to defend and we will be expected to explore the environments of Kholat to find out all the bizarreness that happened. Kholat does look spooky and eerie to say the least so it does have at least that aspect to hook everyone into the game that will play out more like an interactive story. Just as video games should do.

You can look forward to Kholat making its Q1 2015 window as well as updates as we get closer to that window as well. The above is listed as all pre-alpha footage but it does look like Kholat has a whole bunch of nice assets being used to make the game look as pretty as it can be. That will be something Kholat will need if its game mechanics will consist of walk here, watch a story, walk here, don't get scared, rinse, and repeat.
