Well it's about time...Pyro Studios, creators of the famed Commandos series, is set to release a new Commandos game more in line with the first title in this WWII strategy franchise.

How many of you recall the critically low scoring FPS shooter that was Commandos: Strike Force? Yeah, even Pyro Studios was less than enthusiastic about the title. Well, players will be happy to know that this time around they are going to be bringing back all the tactical gameplay that players knew and loved. No word as to how much Commandos publisher Eidos will be involved.

Commandos: Strike Force was released in 2006, so that means it will be over three years since the franchise has been touched. Hopefully with everything changing in the world of RTS (read: Starcraft 2) and possible backing from Eidos, the third installment of Commandos hopefully will be able to keep up the proud tradition, and not thrown into the gutter like it's last inception.
